Breast reduction

A beautiful breast thanks to breast reduction

Large, heavy breasts are for many women a stressful incumbency. They may cause pains in the neck, the shoulders, the upper back, and may be an inconvenience when practicing sports.

A large breast is often a congenital condition and may cause problems already during puberty. But the breasts may also become bigger and heavier after a pregnancy or during menopause.

A breast reduction will allow you to enjoy your everyday life free from the burden of a large breast.

If you are interested in a personal consultation at Clinic Beethovenstrasse AG in Zurich, please call us. We will also gladly schedule your consultation appointment through our online form.

The condition of having abnormally large breasts is referred to as macromastia or mammary hypertrophy in the specialist jargon. In some cases, abnormally large breasts may also be asymmetrical, which means they are uneven in size. In the most extreme case, the difference may be up to one cup size. This imbalance may also be corrected with a surgical procedure.

A breast reduction will allow you to find a new attitude towards life

Large breasts are in most cases a genetic condition. But, the hormonal changes of a pregnancy or during the menopause may also be the cause of a mammary hypertrophy ("abnormally large breasts").

In a mammary reduction surgery (commonly known as breast reduction surgery) the skin, as well as the fat and gland tissues, in excess in lower breast area will be removed, to reduce the breast to the desired size.

After the reduction,  Dr. Colette Carmen Camenisch will sculpt your breast with precise and artistic finesse in a new shape. At first, she will newly mold the internal tissues, and then she will tighten the skin over. The nipples will also be reduced and the areolae transplanted in their new position.
