The laboratory is authorized to store lipoaspirate and/or stem cells derived from adipose tissue for up to 30 years. The collection of stem cells begins with a mini liposuction. This means that in a small procedure, adipose tissue is sucked out and collected in a special vessel. In order to protect the aspirated cells, local anesthesia should be avoided, which is why a mild anesthetic is required to obtain the stem cells. However, the procedure can be performed on an outpatient basis. As soon as the lipoaspirate has been removed, it is immediately transported to a certified laboratory for processing. There, the stem cells are processed both for the first reinjection and for storage. The first reinjection can be carried out after 48 hours at the earliest.
