Bruxism/chewing muscles

Do you grind your teeth at night? Tense and/or excessively large chewing muscles often result from teeth grinding. This can lead to large hamster cheeks (masseter hypertrophy) and unpleasant pain in the face and neck, up to severe migraines. For some, the tension even changes the shape of their face.

A muscle relaxant injection is a treatment that has been tried and tested for years.

The tension can extend far beyond the face and is therefore one of the most common reasons for a tight, painful neck. Grinding/clenching teeth at night is formally known as “bruxism”. Many healthcare professionals prescribe a splint to their patients for bruxism, which is worn at night. But even a splint usually does not prevent those affected from pressing their teeth so firmly together during the night that the jaw muscles tense and cause facial pain.

Relax the chewing muscles

The pressure exerted by the teeth during grinding is many times higher than when chewing. It can even be so great that affected patients get large hamster cheeks over time.

You will feel significant relief when you wake up in the morning just 10 to 14 days after the injection. The chewing muscles and neck muscles will feel significantly more relaxed and the pain will disappear.
