What really lies behind plastic surgery? Is it merely a tool for superficial beauty ideals—or rather a path to self-worth, healing, and a new quality of life? In this episode, I talk about my book “Mein Kunsthandwerk.” I share the origins of the book idea, pivotal moments in my career, and moving stories from my patients. A conversation about responsibility, ethics, and the art of changing lives with empathy.
Why is intimate surgery still a taboo topic? What complaints do affected women experience—and how can a labiaplasty improve their quality of life? In conversation with Marc Jäggi from Radio 1, we explore the medical, emotional, and social aspects, provide clarity, and talk about real-life experiences from clinical practice.
In this episode, I speak with Dr. med. Brigitte S. Muff—one of the first female chief surgeons in Switzerland. Together, we explore Dr. Muff’s fascinating career path, her commitment to promoting women and ethics, as well as the challenges and opportunities female physicians face in a field that is still largely male-dominated. An inspiring conversation about career, equality, and the courage to follow one’s own path.
Episode 4: “Mommy Makeover: What No One Tells You”
In this podcast episode, I take a critical look at the topic of the mommy makeover. I explain which procedures are typically combined, what is realistically achievable—and where social media creates dangerous illusions. I speak openly about risks, recovery phases, and the emotional pressure many women feel to look “perfect” again after giving birth.
Episode 5: “Why Aftercare Determines the Outcome”
In this episode, I talk about a often underestimated part of any operation: aftercare. Why it is medically crucial, which mistakes patients most frequently make, and how you can actively contribute to the success of your treatment. A patient is also live in the studio, openly sharing how she experienced the preparation, healing process, and everyday life after the procedure. A direct, honest, and highly informative insight into the reality of surgical aftercare.
Episode 6: “Breast Surgery from Two Perspectives”
In this episode, I talk with my colleague and friend Dr. med. Alessia Lardi about the connection between aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery. What methods are available, how do patients’ expectations differ—and where do these two areas complement each other? A concise insight into two perspectives within a shared discipline.
Episode 7: “From Head to Toe – Aesthetics Meets Function”
What do plastic surgery and orthopedic foot surgery have in common? More than you might think. In this episode of “From Head to Toe,” Dr. Gerardo Maquieira and I talk about why aesthetics should never be considered in isolation — but always in interplay with function, alignment, and movement.
Dr. Maquieira, an orthopedic surgeon and traumatologist specializing in the foot, brings international experience from Switzerland, Spain, and the United States — as well as a shared past with me at University Hospital Zurich (USZ), where we both treated severely injured patients. Our conversation explores beautiful versus healthy feet, high heels, hallux valgus, pregnancy, menopause, and the question of when aesthetic wishes make medical sense — and when they don’t.
A podcast about the foundation of our body: honest, expert, and surprisingly holistic.
Botox, hyaluronic acid, biostimulators – terms that seem to be everywhere today. But what actually happens when injections are used in aesthetic medicine? And why are experts suddenly talking about collagen stimulation instead of fillers?
In this conversation, I explain the three main groups of injectable treatments: botulinum toxin, hyaluronic acid, and modern biostimulators. I show when each substance is used, why combination treatments are becoming increasingly common, and why new therapies are playing a particularly important role in cases of significant weight loss, for example through GLP-1 medications.
