After a successful treatment for breast cancer, many women long for an aesthetic correction of their breast. Depending on the condition of the patient, Dr. Camenisch may reduce or lift the healthy breast to achieve a new, harmonious symmetry.

After the removal of a breast tumor, in most cases, the breast will be reconstructed with a complex procedure: muscular and adipose tissue will be removed from the back, the abdomen, or the buttock, and used to shape a new breast. In some cases, a breast implant may also be inserted to compensate for the missing volume.
After this breast reconstruction, there are quite often minor differences in shape and size with the healthy, not operated breast. A corrective breast surgery would yield a perfect final result.
In most cases, the healthy, not previously operated breast must be reduced or lifted after the successful conclusion of a breast cancer treatment. These surgeries are referred to respectively as mammary reduction and mastopexy. In a mammary reduction, the adipose and glandular tissues in excess will be removed, and the breast reduced to the desired size.
With a mastopexy, Dr. Colette Carmen Camenisch removes the sagging skin and, if necessary, repositions the areola. In this case, no tissues will be removed. In both surgeries, your breast specialist will shape a new breast that complements perfectly the reconstructed breast.
Depending on the extent of the procedure, between 1,5 and 2 hours.
Solely depending on your personal preferences, Dr. Colette Carmen Camenisch may perform the surgical procedure yin the clinic "Im Park" or the clinic "Pyramide". The stationary stay lasts 2 to 3 days.
General anesthesia
Depending on the extent of the surgery, between 7 and 10 days.
A breast reduction or a breast lifting surgery after a breast cancer treatment may cause, as with every breast surgery, local infection, postoperative hemorrhages, impairment of the circulation, wound healing and somatosensory disorders. A slight, not rectifiable, asymmetry may also be a possibility after the surgery.
After the breast reduction or breast lifting surgery, you will have to wear for the next 6 weeks a tight-fitting sports bra. After this period, you may practice sports again.
The costs for a corrective breast surgery are generally covered by insurance. Our staff at Clinic Beethovenstrasse AG will gladly clarify if your insurance covers any of the costs
