Those who suffer from drooping upper eyelids often look tired. Not for nothing we commonly speak of "heavy eyelids". An upper eyelid lift allows the patients who suffer from this condition to look as well-rested as they feel: the pressure will disappear from the eyelids and so will the tired expression.
The patients who have drooping upper eyelids look already tired in the morning and give constantly the impression to not have rested well. Nevertheless, sleeping longer and better won't solve the problem. Only a surgical procedure can help. In an upper eyelid lift, Dr. Colette Carmen Camenisch removes the skin in excess ("dermatochalasis") and the adipose tissues in excess from the eyelid.
With the sagging eyelids disappears the tired expression as well: you will look radiant, well-rested and dynamic once again. The "heavy pressure" on the eyelids will be a distant memory.
Drooping upper eyelids occur most often in older patients. But, due to genetics they may also appear in younger persons. Sagging eyelids and the related constant tired expression are aesthetically unpleasant. If the skin of the upper eyelid hangs over the eyes, it may even impair the visual field of the patient.
Dr. Colette Carmen Camenisch has considerable experience in upper eyelid lift procedures and is renowned for her gentle technique. She will guarantee with the greatest sensitivity possible, that you will look better and see better. In most cases, the procedure will go unnoticed.
The surgery will last approximately 60 minutes.
Dr. Colette Carmen Camenisch performs the eyelid lift surgery as an ambulatory procedure at Clinic Beethovenstrasse AG.
Local anesthesia. Upon request, a general anesthesia is also possible.

An upper eyelid lift may cause hematomas, postoperative hemorrhages, scars, and tearing of the sutures. Infections may occur only very rarely. Sometimes the patients complain of a temporary dryness of the eyes.
