Breast lift

If your breasts are no longer taut after pregnancy or as you get older, a breast lift (known as a “mastopexy”) can help. During this breast surgery, the breast tissue is reshaped. This procedure helps to achieve a beautiful, firm and youthful breast with natural proportions.

Breast lift

Everyone who has seen the result is absolutely delighted and finds the breasts to be very natural and beautiful. The breasts look the same as the breasts I had when I was 20 years old. They look and feel absolutely natural. I'm enjoying putting on a bikini or a nice bra again.

Frequently asked questions

Does a breast lift leave visible scars?

The incision runs around the areola and below it vertically. Another incision along the natural breast fold is also required. The extent to which these incisions remain visible depends on the individual, genetically caused scar formation. Breast lift surgery usually leaves behind fine, light scars that are only marginally visible.

Are the nipples “shifted”?

As a result of the tissue and skin removal, the position of the nipples changes. In order to achieve an appealing, aesthetic result, the areola is adjusted in relation to the new breast and the nipple is raised to a new position without affecting sensitivity.

Do I have to tell you if I am taking medication?

It is extremely important that you always inform the treating doctor about any illnesses and medications you are taking. You should cease taking any blood-thinning medications (aspirin, aspegic or omega-3 fatty acids) two weeks before the procedure. Such medications can cause increased bleeding during surgery and delay the subsequent healing process. The doctor may decide not to perform a planned operation at any time if the surgical risk is increased as a result of the prior use of medication.

What are the risks of a breast lift?

In principle, every operation involves certain risks (e.g. drug intolerance, bruises, wound healing disorders, inflammation or scarring). They also depend on the individual's state of health. The doctor will inform you and discuss possible risks with you as part of the consultation and preparation session.

Is it possible to breastfeed after a breast lift?

Yes, a breast lift does not impact your ability to breastfeed.

How long will I be unable to work?

Depending on your profession, you can expect to be unable to work for approximately seven days. If you have a job involving heavy physical labor, you may be unable to work for up to four weeks.

Wann kann ich wieder Sport treiben?

Sportliche Aktivitäten können nach abgeschlossener Heilung (nach ca. 6 bis 8 Wochen) wieder aufgenommen werden.

Does health insurance pay for this procedure?

The costs of a breast lift are not covered by health insurance, as it is a purely aesthetic procedure. For patients who are having a medically necessary breast reduction surgery performed at the same time, cost sharing or even reimbursement by health insurance is possible.
