For a harmonious overall picture Christine Jacobsen pays close attention to your overall features. For example, a change in the profile through a nose operation can also be combined with a chin correction to achieve a coherent overall picture.
With any nose operation, it's necessary to distinguish between a purely functional operation taking place only in the inside of a nose, and a change of the external shape of the nose. In a lot of cases a functional problem is also associated with the external shape of the nose. For example, a crooked nose, in which there is a curvature of the nasal septum or an extremely sunken nose bridge, i.e a so-called saddle nose, can cause issues with breathing. One or multiple previous operations can also impair the function of the nose. Sometimes, in such a "reoperation," the nasal skeleton must be restored.
Nose operations can place internally, i.e. any incisions are strictly inside the nose. However, in some cases a combination of internal and external incisions are necessary to achieve the desired result.
Due to the various options, current function of the nose and the desired results, a careful diagnosis is necessary. PD Dr. Dr. Christine Jacobsen will discuss all options and consequences in detail with you, so that you can be sure that the results will fulfill your goals. If there are any functional issues (i.e. breathing is impaired), we will reach out to your health insurance and verify what (if any) costs they will cover.
Depending on the extent, 2 - 3.5 hours
It depends on the type of operation you've had.
If you have tamponades in your nose that are not self-dissolving, they will be removed after about 3 days. The nasal cast / splint after 10-14 days and if a splinting of the nasal septum was required, it is removed after 10- 14 days. We will discuss this with you in detail prior to the operation.
Basically, with regard to the swelling after surgery, the final result is visible only after about 6 months.
As with almost any operation, a rhinoplasty also has certain risk factors. The biggest risk of a nose operation is that the shape of the nose is not exactly what you want. Not achieving the exact results you would like is a possibility and sometimes may not be possible.. It is therefore very important to have an accurate and careful interview with the surgeon (s) before surgery. It is also important to know that the final shape of the nose can only be assessed after about 6 months. That's how long it takes until the residual swelling of the nose has completely disappeared.
Bruising, infections and wound healing disorders after surgery are other possible complications as with any other procedure.
The cost of a nose surgery depend on effort and are agreed upon in advance. The price is inclusive of all services, such as the consultation, the surgery, the medications, the follow-up controls, and all potential corrective measures.
